What We Believe
We believe the entire Bible, including:
The Scriptures - the Scripture is the final Authority in all matters of faith and practice. We believe that God has preserved His Word today for all in the Bible (I Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21).
The Sovereign God - God is a Person, eternally existing, as a Trinity in unity-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-three Persons yet but one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 26:19, I Corinthians 8:6).
The Son - Jesus Christ, eternally existing is the only begotten Son of God, who became a man, totally apart from sin, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. (Luke 1:30-55; John 1:1-15; Philippians 2:5-8; Colossians 1:15).
The Sacrifice - The Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. He arose from the dead in the body in which He was crucified; He ascended into Heaven in the glorified body where He is seated at the right hand of God the Father as Head of Church, making intercession for the saints as our High Priest. (Luke 24; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 5:8-10; Ephesians 1:22, 23).
The Service - The local church is a group of believers baptized by water, banded together for edification, exhortation and evangelism as commanded by Christ in the Great Commission; preaching the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15; I Corinthians 12:12; Ephesians 1:22, 23).
Village Baptist Church has the following five goals...
To Know Him Through Inspiring People to Develop a Heart for God.
The main reason we exist as a church is to help people have a personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. We inspire people through the preaching and teaching of God's Word in our weekly services and activities.
To Build a Church Family.
As a church we endeavor to include every individual in an Adult Bible Class, Sunday School Class, and church activity. Through these smaller group settings we seek to build a community (family) through our church.
To Instruct Individuals through God's Word.
We believe that every solution for today's problem is found in the Bible. We teach and preach the Bible so that people may learn Christian Doctrine, Christian Duty, and seek victory over the Discouragements of life. Sunday morning classes, Sunday morning worship services, Sunday night preaching services, Wednesday night Bible studies, Bible Conferences, and Revivals provide a balanced diet for the believer to grow through God's Word.
To Involve People in the Ministry.
At Village Baptist Church our goal is to help every saint see their opportunities to serve God. The opportunities abound for evangelism, discipleship, and ministry at our church.
To make an Impact with the Gospel.
We believe that God wants us to carry the message that Jesus provides salvation to everyone possible. We seek to make an impact in our local area through our evangelism and church programs. We also seek to take the gospel to places we cannot go by supporting missionaries financially and prayerfully.
